Structural Integration

Better known as Rolfing or Hellerwork, this is a specialized field and a title given only to those who have completed the intensive certification program. Structural Integration is designed to realign the entire structure and bring the body into balance physically, mentally, emotionally and psychologically. When the body is in a state of balance you feel and look better, have more energy, can reason more clearly, and have a deeper understanding and enjoyment of life.

Hellerwork

Hellerwork combines Deep Tissue Bodywork with Myofascial Release and Movement Education to encourage the body back to its natural state of balance, which allows chronic pain and tension to dissipate. Hellerwork encourages lifestyle changes in the mental, emotional, physical, and psychological aspects and creates a wholeness of the individual. It is a holistic approach to releasing pain and restoring the body to a natural state of well being.

Structural Balancing

Based on the theory that the body needs to be aligned and balanced within the forces of gravity in order to function effectively without pain or discomfort. The goal is to align the musculoskeletal system so it exhibits more fluidity in movement and has a greater resilience. The areas targeted in this modality are the ligaments, muscles, tendons and connective tissues.

Myofascial Release

A three-dimensional application of sustained pressure and movement of the facial system designed to eliminate restrictions in the tissue. Myofascial Release is an effective therapeutic approach in the relief of neck and back pain, fibromyalgia, scoliosis, restrictions in motion, chronic pain, and headaches just to name a few.

Physical/Emotional Trauma

Verbal dialogue is used between the practitioner and client to explore the possibility of emotional factors that may be contributing to the physical trauma embodied by the client. Teaching the client to be "mindful" and aware of how they internalize their own stress helps them become more effective in recognizing and dealing with their own traumas as they occur. When traumas are recognized as they unfold, and are dealt with at their inception, they are not given the opportunity to internalize and become fixated in the body.

Stress Management

Focuses on bringing awareness to the emotional and physical triggers that allow stress related issues into the body. It is designed to teach the client to be able to recognize the symptoms as they appear rather than after they have settled into the body to cause pain and distress. This is a very powerful technique for many of the stress-related problems such as fibromyalgia, mild depression, insecurities, migraines and many others.

Relaxation

Designed to improve circulation, speed healing, reduce swelling from injury, increase the body's energy, help the dissolution of scar tissue and adhesions, and give a feeling of overall well-being and generalized relaxation.

Craniosacral Therapy

A gentle, non-invasive method of therapy that evaluates and enhances the function of the physiological system in the body called the craniosacral system. Much like the circulatory system, the craniosacral system is a closed system, connecting the brain, cerebral fluid, and spinal cord to the sacrum. Performed with a light touch, this therapy encourages the body's own natural healing mechanisms to improve. It enhances health and strengthens the body's resistance to disease by re-synchronizing the natural rhythm of the craniosacral system. When this system is restricted, symptoms connected to the central nervous system are affected such as learning disabilities, visual impairments, motor-coordination, and problems with sensory and neurological functions become apparent. Headaches/migraines, TMJ, Dyslexia, ADD, and ADHD are a few of the other symptoms common to craniosacral restrictions.

Pain Reduction

Designed for the relief and control of myofacial pain and dysfunction, increased range of motion, enhanced flexibility, and improved function of the areas involved. Direct communication with the client during the therapy is vital and the client is always in control of the level of pressure delivered by the therapist.

Specialized Deep Tissue Therapy

Techniques utilized to affect the many layers of the musculature system requiring extensive understanding of anatomy and physiology. It is an effective method in the treatment of chronic muscular pain and injury rehabilitation which also helps reduce inflammation related pain caused by arthritis and tendonitis. This modality is can be integrated with other massage techniques.
