Mary Lou Wickham, the owner of Body Dynamics, has developed a unique technique by integrating various modalities to give the quickest relief with minimal discomfort, and results that last much longer than conventional massage.
She studied in Hellerwork Structural Integration at the Hellerwork Training Center in California. To become certified, she completed 1250 hours of training in Anatomy, Physiology, Structural Integration, Myofascial Release, Movement Education, Aston Patterning, Feldenkrais, Physical/Emotional Trauma, and Psychology.
Additional courses included Touch For Health, Visceral Manipulation, Upledger's Craniosacral Therapy, and Onsen. Through this variety of training, Mary Lou has learned various depths of touch from deepest to lightest and now "feels" the needs of the tissues of each client and adjusts her touch accordingly.
Mary Lou has been practicing in the Boise area since 1998 and, to her knowledge, is the only practitioner in the State of Idaho with the title of Certified Hellerwork Practitioner.
Mary Lou has extended her training to include total body health by adding another certification in the field of Nutritional Therapy. Realizing what she can do to help the body release its physical pain, she is excited to work with the total body's health by bringing the body into balance nutritionally as well as physically. This way, the body can have the chance to heal itself as it was created to do...NOT through chemicals and drugs. This new approach, called bio-individuality, is based on your body at the time the health evaluation is given and is established on the principles of nutrition, health and wellness. Western or modern medicine is based on the study of illness and disease! Keep in mind that your health is your responsibility.
Note: A Nutritional Therapist is trained to evaluate your nutritional needs and make recommendations of dietary changes and nutritional supplements. Nutritional Therapy is not intended to diagnose or treat any disease or illness, or to take the place of any medical treatment or ongoing medical care.
